Hands, Inc. is a Christian nonprofit ministry
that provides home repair and maintenance to those in
need in the Peoria, Illinois/Tri-county community. His Helping Hands
serves the elderly, single mothers, people with disabilities
and others in need who live in their own home, but are unable to maintain the
property.
Since its inception in the Spring of 2000, His Helping Hands has
completed over 500 jobs for almost 300 families or individuals.
Client Services include building wheelchair
ramps, painting, cleaning gutters, repairing porches and
steps, raking leaves, etc.
Requests or
referrals for projects
are received from individuals, churches, and various
non-profit organizations (e.g., Lutheran Social Services of
Illinois, Central Illinois Agency on Aging, City of Peoria).
Work is completed by volunteer teams led by experienced team
leaders. Skilled craftsmen are especially needed (plumbers,
electricians, carpenters), but anyone who is willing to help is
welcome.

may work on as many or as few projects as desired.
His Helping Hands is funded by individuals, churches, businesses,
and organizations who care about the needs of this community.
Donations
of money and/or materials are needed and appreciated.
