2003 I am a single mom with 2 girls. My youngest child has special needs. She is developmentally delayed and has seizures. In August of this year during a thunder storm someone tried to break in my home at 3:30 a.m. I woke up from the storm hearing wood split which turned out to be my back door. If it had not been for Jeff's ministry, I would have not been able to afford getting my back door replaced. Being a single mom with a special needs child and my income, I would not have been able to pay a contractor to do the job. Because of Jeff's ministry I was able to have my back doors replaced. Now my family is able to sleep at night and feel safe again. Thanks! |

2003 I am writing this letter to let you know how Jeff Heft's ministry, His Helping Hands, has been a literal God-send for me. ...I have been using His Helping Hands Ministry for two years now. Without it I would not have had a working door this past winter, I would still have a leak under my bathroom sink, no ceiling light in the living room, no upstairs linen closet. He has fixed my kitchen faucet, replaced a broken faucet in the upstairs bath, put up new screen doors, and hooked up my ice maker in my refrigerator. I still have to space my work out...I buy the parts as I can afford it, have Jeff do the work, then pay Jeff based upon our agreement from the very beginning. He has allowed me to break my payments up over time and has even been very patient with me when it has taken me a month or longer to get him all that he is owed. His Helping Hands is a much needed ministry, especially in my realm of being a single parent. I don't have the skill set, nor do I have the money to hire a contractor. I am sure that senior citizens and others on a limited income or Social Security would feel the same. I pray that you seriously consider supporting His Helping Hands. Your support would help Jeff be more readily available to take on ministry work on a larger scale than he has been able to. He has been an answer to a prayer! |

February 1, 2002 To Whom It May Concern: I am writing on
behalf of Jeff Heft, as a letter of endorsement as he seeks to
assist others through "His Helping Hands." Prior to being
elected bishop, I had the privilege of serving as Senior Pastor at
First English Lutheran Church, Peoria, Illinois. |

| 12/01 Common Place supports the work of His Helping Hands in providing needed home repairs for low-income homeowners in Peoria. Since 1976, Common Place's Home Improvement Program has made emergency, health and safety repairs to more than 450 homes on the Center South Side of Peoria. The need, however, continues to be great as the housing stock and the owner-occupants themselves age and do not have the means to make the repairs themselves. In addition, limited funding for not-for-profit rehabilitation programs like ours prevents us from helping all those in need. Peoria needs programs like His Helping Hands to help meet that need. It will be our pleasure to collaborate with His Helping Hands by referring homeowners to them and sharing information when feasible. Pam Ritter Common Place Home Improvement Program |

| Jeff
Heft was extremely helpful to me when I was widowed and needed
several things fixed around my house and yard. Jeff did a
wonderful job with everything - repairing and fixing items, and
doing landscaping. His work was very professional and was a
real Godsend. I was not physically capable of doing the work
myself, nor would it have been affordable for me to have contracted
the work out. I feel there is a great need for the Helping
Hands ministry in our community. When you support this
ministry you know that you are helping people right in our own
community. |

| I am a
single grandmother. I have 5 grandchildren living with me
under my care. This makes it very hard to make ends meet.
When something breaks in my home it is impossible for me to pay the
"going rate" for plumbers, electricians, and carpenters to come and
make the repairs. The ministry of His Helping Hands has helped
me to get the necessary repairs made while still being able to keep
up with the bills. All work has been done at no expense to
myself. This includes replacing a defective water heater,
fixing leaking faucets, unclogging a sewer drain, repairing
dangerous stairs and more.
His Helping Hands
has been a Godsend. I thank the Lord for their ministry. |
